This year's CSGC Undergraduate Space Research Symposium was a great success.  We thank everyone who was able to participate.  A special thanks goes out to Dr. David Klaus, our guest speaker, who gave a wonderful and exciting talk on Humans in Space.

Undergraduate students from every discipline were invited to write a short paper or present an illustrative poster on a space related topic of their choice.  Their presentations lasted about 20 minutes long and included some very in-depth question and answer periods.  We had 5 winners: one from each session (including the poster session).  We extend our congratulations out to:

Winners

Session 1: Erin McFadden and Kirsten Kilbourn: Biomedical Evaluation of the Straight Leg Deadlift Technique in Microgravity Using the Constant Force Resistive Exercise Unit (CFREU).

Session 2: Mike Seibert and Dean Blom: The Multi-Altitude Solar Panel Output Experiment

Session 3: Brittany Albrandt and Donny Newsom: Ion Thruster Optics Design for the Interstellar Precursor Mission

Session 4: Amanda Hammers: Fuel Aggregation Study-Trajectories of Orbital Maneuvering Vehicles

Poster Session: Stephen Russel: EMI Analysis

This year's Symposium gave the students a chance to speak in front of a state-wide audience of industry representatives and other students.  After the Symposium, we heard from most of the aerospace representatives in the audience and they were very impressed.

A link to all the papers that were presented are below.  Also note, that all the students of Colorado Space Grant are invited to submit a resume and examples of their work to me (Steve Wichman) to be included in a Resume CD that will be going out to a ton of various aerospace companies.  See the link below for more details.
