To inspire the next generation of explorers,
    ...as only NASA can.

    Brandon Gilles

The Colorado Space Grant Consortium Student Focus for October 2006 is Brandon Gilles.  Brandon is a senior in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder.  He was one of the original RocketSat C&DH team members during the Spring 2006 semester contributing to the microcontroller and CDH system architecture, integration and testing for the RSI payload due to fly September 25th 2006.  During the Summer of 2006, he worked with a team of 10 other students from across the US to help JPL developed the Mars Inspiration program which will be a student developed payload to measure atmospheric and weather trends on Mars and will compliment JPL's Astrobiology Field Laboratory.  His area of responsibility was again CDH architecture.  He worked with other students whose areas covered all sub-systems needed for this Mars mission.   He will be leading a team of two other students at CU this semester to continue the development and prototype of the CDH system. The other universities students at JPL this summer will also continue development of their areas at their home institutions.
