    RocketSat

Welcome to the RocketSat website! RocketSat is a project aimed at developing payloads to launch in sounding rockets, with the goal of creating a sustainable educational program.

RocketSat I had a Geiger counter, a microwave detector, six accelerometers, a temperature sensor, a pressure sensor, two batteries, a relay, and a g-switch to activate the payload with sufficient upward acceleration. The ultimate result will be an altitude profile of cosmic radiation, microwaves, atmospheric temperature and pressure, and acceleration of the rocket.

    RocketSat I Payload

The team also flew RocketSat II nnd RocketSat III during the spring and summer of 2007 and had a great success.

Eventually, the goal for RocketSat is to create a course much like Gateway To Space (ASEN 2500). Teams in the class will each develop a level of experimentation on a RocketSat II-type payload, and their plate of hardware will be flown on a sounding rocket flight. In an educational opportunity normally reserved for graduate students and professional level researchers, students will gain real-world experience working with actual space hardware.

Please visit the links below if you would like more information about our program. If the documents and pictures do not answer your questions or satiate your quest for knowledge, please feel free to contact me regarding the opportunities that RocketSat can provide to you as a student, professor, or company.
